VIA art retreats are your chance to get away from it all for an afternoon and just play.
Come explore the world of altered books and fiddle with the art of storytelling. We’ve gathered up a collection of old storybooks for you to choose from, or bring a copy of your favorite fairy tale/children’s story to embellish. Books with stronger pages (“board books”, or sturdy paper) work best.
Remember when you were told NEVER to mark up a book? Times have changed! Have fun playing with fabrics, markers, paint and brushes, and add your own angle to the story as you make your mark on each of the book’s pages. We will provide moral support as you engage in the forbidden…writing, drawing, painting and glueing in the book to make your own story and work of art!
