Beginning Watercolor Workshops with Guest Instructor: Leslie Barnum
Workshops take place from 9:30am-12:30pm on the 1st Saturday of the month: April 6th, May 4th, June 1st, July 6th, August 3 and September 7th
In this beginning watercolor series* students will learn how to use watercolor by exploring simple concepts, experimenting and playing as they paint. The first three workshops will begin with the fundamentals and cover various watercolor techniques. During the final three workshops, students will build on their skills as they try new subject matter. These workshops are appropriate for absolute beginners or for those with more experience to practice skills and techniques. The purpose of this series is to take the intimidation out of painting with watercolor so students allow themselves to explore and have fun!
*Each workshop is a stand alone class where students will come away with a creation of their own or the workshops can be taken as a 6 month series.
April 6th In this first workshop, students will learn the very basics of painting with watercolor: including learning about brushes, watercolor paint, palettes and paper. Students will learn about color as they paint their own color wheel using Cyan, Magenta and Yellow watercolor paint.
May 4th Students will learn all about washes and other basic techniques for starting their first watercolor painting.
June 1st During this workshop, students will create an abstract colorful design as they practice glazing techniques and brushwork.
July 6th During this workshop, students will learn about value and create a monochromatic landscape painting.
August 3 During this workshop, students will use nature as their inspiration for their paintings.
September 7th Postcard Painting: Students will create several of their own postcard size paintings during this watercolor workshop.

9:30am – 12:30 pm at the VIA Artistica Studio at TaborSpace$50 per workshop or $270 for all 6 Beginning Watercolor Workshops. All materials are provided. Payments must be made in advance and can be sent via PayPal to lesliebarnum@yahoo.com.

Cancellation/Refund Policy – If cancellation is given 2 weeks or more in advance of the workshop, a full refund is honored. However, if the original payment was made through PayPal, we will charge 4% (our PayPal fee) to make a refund. If cancellation is given with less than 2 weeks notice, we will refund 50% of the payment. If less than 72 hours notice is given, sorry, NO REFUND is given.
